Appreciation Post – Astrid Claessen

Unfortunately, saying thank you seems to be an after thought more and more.  So at least once a month, I will take a few minutes to publicly appreciate someone that has had an impact on me.

This round:  Astrid Claessen

I really can’t remember the exact moment when I met Astrid. I know we met through Agile conferences and I want to say that it was a dinner for women – but don’t quote me on that.

Despite not remembering the original introduction, Astrid has been a constant support in my life for several years now. I’ve been pretty open about how nervous writing this blog makes me. Yet for almost every post that I released, Astrid responses in some way: liking, answering the question, pointing out when I send a bad link, challenging me to think of another post, etc.

There are so many negative things about social media but Astrid demonstrates the positive. Here is someone that once a year or every other year, we see each other in person. Yet, we are engaged in each others’ lives. I’m inspired by her drive to challenge herself (from running to work). I’m grateful for her thoughts and time she spends to engage with my life (personal and work).

So thank you Astrid!
